Botanical description
Pumpkins are grown from extremely long annual vines. They belong to the berry variety known as pepo, and their fruits are commonly referred to as pumpkins. Pumpkins are typically large, weighing between 4 to 8 kilograms, and they come in shades of yellowish to orange. The shape of pumpkins can be oblong, globular, or oblate. The fruit stem of a pumpkin is ridged, angled, and hard, with a woody texture. The seeds of a pumpkin are usually flat and asymmetrically oval, covered in a white husk. Once the husk is removed, the seeds appear pale green in colour.
